My friend, Fr. Ken Deasy, is going back to Haiti for another trip to help with the recovery efforts there. The work he is doing is AMAZING!
I know that there are a lot of worthwhile causes out there – but he could really use your help. No donation is too small, and 100% of the money goes to help those in need – NO ADMINISTRATION OR OVERHEAD COSTS!! For his past trips, Ken has raised $125,000 to take down there, but there is still a lot of work to do – and the people there need our help.
So, please consider helping out these kids in Haiti – and I’m copying a message he sent out over the weekend about his pending trip, and the work that is being done.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!!
BACK TO HAITI ON MARCH 25!…
BTW, WHERE DID ALL THAT 2010 U.S. MONEY FOR HAITI RELIEF GO?
Can’t tell you. Often, I’m asked that question as I solicit help for the kids on “The Farm” everytime I speak of the kids there as I prepare for another trip. All I can tell you is that “the word is” that half of the billion was given to social service agencies already in Haiti before the 2010 quake…USAID, American Red Cross, UNICEF, etc. The rest remains until the Haitian government (still in process of formation) can get it’s act together with a plan.ALL I KNOW FOR SURE, is that over the $500,000 initially given to the Holy Childhood Association, Los Angeles, 100% of it was given to over 8 Catholic religious orders who have been serving the impoverished people of Haiti (way before the 2010 earthquake) in giving their lives to the Lord’s service as missionaries. An additional $125,000 was collected from YOU for my previous four trips and 100% of it given for the relocation, temporary establishment and permanent rebuilding underway at the Institut Montfort (aka “the Farm”) for the housing and education of 300 deaf and mute Haitian children. No administration costs were deducted from it. 100% baby!!!Please open the attachment to read an article published in The Los Angeles TIDINGS it tells the story; a true story. We’re not just about rebuilding the buildings (though we can boast of having 10 toilets now; and they flush!) but also we’re sending teachers to France to be specialized in teaching techniques specifically for kids with these physical and resulting emotional disabilities that they endureYEP! I can’t wait to see the Sisters and kids again!
